His Favorite Daughter
In my life, there have been a few very clear, unique moments when I have felt that I was having a conversation with God.
And I have to say, I don’t mean a normal prayer. It wasn’t simply praying or asking for something. These were moments when I spoke to Him with absolute clarity, from the deepest part of me, and I felt that He answered me with that same clarity.
A few years ago, the first time, I told Him:
You have to help me, because I can’t do this on my own.
And He, loving and extraordinary, blessed me a week later with His greatest help. His greatest gift.
It was so much more than my tiny imagination could have ever asked for. It was better than anything I could have chosen for myself. So perfect, so unexpected, that it could only have been the work of God.
Recently, I spoke to Him that way again.
I said:
If You are putting this in my heart because this is what You want for me, then keep going. Let it grow within me. But if this is not what You want for me, take it out of my mind and out of my heart.
Once again, He answered me.
Clearly and unmistakably.
But more than that, abundantly.
There have been moments when I have been able to see His love for me so clearly that it is difficult to believe they are coincidences. I have felt the way He takes care of me, the way He holds me, the way He opens paths and suddenly places gifts in front of me that I didn’t even know I could ask for.
For a long time, I used to think that God must believe I was one of His bravest warriors. One of the strongest.
I always remember a dear friend’s mom telling me:
“Not me. I tell God: I am one of Your weakest daughters. Don’t send me the hard tests because I can’t handle them.”
And I would look at my life and think:
Damn, God really thinks I’m freaking Terminator.
Because there have been many.
Many tests. Many times when I have had to keep going when I would have preferred to stop. Many things I would never have chosen to live through.
And maybe that is why, for a long time, I saw my relationship with God from that perspective: He knew I could endure it.
But lately, it feels different.
Lately, I feel like His favorite daughter.
Not because I believe God loves me more than anyone else. But because that is what it feels like when someone loves you so much that you begin to recognize their love everywhere.
How incredible it is to feel cared for by Him.
How incredible the way He holds me.
The way He places people in my path.
The way He gives me moments.
The way He answers me.
The way He surprises me.
The way He reminds me that after everything I have lived through, beautiful things can still find their way into my life.
And maybe one of the most beautiful things happening to me lately is precisely that realization: not everything that comes from God has to be a test.
Sometimes, they can be gifts.
It can also be joy.
It can be excitement.
It can be love.
It can be an answer that arrives in abundance.
Today, I feel incredibly fortunate. Deeply grateful.
After so many times when I thought God had a little too much faith in my strength, today I feel something different.
I feel like He is spoiling me.
Like His favorite daughter.
God loves me.
And what an extraordinary gift it is to be able to feel it.

Hoy me siento sumamente afortunada. Profundamente agradecida.
Dios me ama.
Y qué regalo tan inmenso poder sentirlo.
